What a Man Really Wants to Say About Relationships | J. Riggins

Excerpt from Chapter 11 – “Using the Kids as Weapons”:

This chapter is definitely going to ignite some anger, even
though that was not my intention. For way too long, kids
have been in the middle of divorce conflicts, bad breakups and
petty arguments. Parents have been using kids as weapons against
their ‘used to be’ significant others for way too long. It does not
matter if you were married and had a child, or if the child was
conceived out of wedlock. At the end of the day, the child still
exists and deserves unconditional love. Children do not deserve
to be involved with turmoil and the backlash of bad decisions surrounding
the parents. It’s bad enough that children will be
affected from an ended relationship, but to be dragged through
the middle of the turmoil makes it even worse. I don’t care what
society says, but every boy needs a father in his life and every girl
needs her mother in her life. Of course there are situations where
a parent can’t be in our lives for whatever reason, but the fact still
remains. There is no better advice than the advice coming from a
man to his son or from a woman to her daughter.
